Description
The Lavender Kanchipuram Silk Saree is an ode to understated opulence. Woven using the traditional Ekambara–Mango (E/M) technique on pit looms in Kanchipuram, this saree pairs a soothing lavender ground with the timeless Thilagam (paisley) motif — one of the oldest and most revered patterns in Indian textile heritage.
The Thilagam, inspired by the shape of a mango or a teardrop, symbolises fertility, abundance, and auspiciousness. Woven using genuine zari thread directly into the silk body, each motif is the result of a skilled artisan carefully threading the zari on a handloom shuttle — a tradition passed down through generations in Kanchipuram weaving families.
The zari-rich self-pallu is heavily woven with the same lavender silk and zari, giving it a luxurious weight and an heirloom-quality finish. A plain lavender blouse with a coordinating woven border completes the serene, harmonious look.

🧵 The Craft Behind This Saree
The E/M (Ekambara–Mango) weaving style is known for its rich zari integration throughout the body, giving the saree a full, weighted feel. Every Thilagam motif is individually shuttle-woven — not printed or embroidered. This is what makes a Kanchipuram saree a generational investment.
🌿 Care Instructions
Dry clean only to preserve silk lustre and zari brilliance. Store in a breathable muslin or cotton cloth to prevent moisture damage. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to retain colour vibrancy. Do not fold along zari lines; roll gently to prevent creasing.
📝 Note
Slight colour variations may occur due to photographic lighting or screen settings. Each saree is handwoven — minor irregularities are the hallmark of authentic craftsmanship.
